In collaboration with the Brown County State’s Attorney Office, we’ll be co-hosting the annual NESD conference at the Dakota Event Center in Aberdeen. This annual conference provides family violence professionals access to the latest research, practical experiences and treatment methods for maltreatment. Participants will analyze a complex case study and hear the emotional testimony of a domestic abuse survivor. CEUs will be available for social workers, counselors and law enforcement.
Plan to join us for an after-hours dinner event on October 28th with Jeff Rinek, who will share from his book, In the Name of the Children. A plated dinner will be served. This is also a great opportunity for networking amongst participants.
Register before August 14th and receive a discounted rate of $50 for the two-day conference or $70 for both the conference and dinner. If you registered before it was rescheduled, you would have been refunded and will need to register again.
A retired FBI after thirty years of services involving cases of child endangerment, sexual abuse, murders and serial rapists. Jeff published the book, In The Name of the Children which tells his journey to finding missing children and bringing sexual predators to justice. Jeff was featured on a 20/20 documentary as the lead investigator that obtained a confession of a serial killer Cary Stayner in the Yosemite Park Murders.
Dr. Kenneth Snell
A licensed Pathologist and Minnehaha County Coroner. Dr. Snell has completed thousands of autopsy’s and provided medical review on cases of child abuse, strangulation, and domestic violence.
Trainer and formal prosecutor on numerous topics pertaining to child abuse investigations, prosecutions and prevention. He is the author of “Unto the Third Generation,” a bold initiative that outlines the necessary steps we must all take to eliminate child abuse in America in three generations.

The Executive Director of the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence & Sexual Assault since 1999. Krista advocates for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Dr. Thom Flamboe
Dr. Flamboe has been an educator, counselor, communication specialist and a nationally-known lecturer. He has worked with children, parents and families since 1970. He educates individuals and agencies on the importance of self-care through his education, experience and humor.
