Shelter Coordinator
We are seeking a dedicated Shelter Coordinator to ensure the smooth, safe, and consistent operation of our Safe Harbor Shelter. This role involves managing day-to-day shelter activities, overseeing vehicle use, and maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for all residents. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and committed to delivering high-quality service in a structured, dependable manner. This full-time position includes nights and weekends as needed, while also being on-call to assist in case of emergency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field required.
- Minimum of one year experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Sensitivity to issues of family violence, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect.
- Sensitivity and awareness of issues related to diversity.
- Ability to empower individuals in a time of need.
- Community resource coordination.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with computers and technology.
- Ability to work in complex situations and manage multiple tasks and crisis situations.
- Ability to act as a member of a team.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Oversee shelter operations while managing crisis situations that arise.
- Provide case management and support clients with legal processes.
- Supervise staff, collaborate on programs and budgeting, and make decisions on shelter services.
- Build community partnerships, represent Safe Harbor, and promote domestic violence/sexual assault advocacy.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, adhere to policies, and contribute to board reports and meetings.

Outreach Coordinator
This role involves crisis response, client support, advocacy, and community outreach for Safe Harbor. Responsibilities include providing case management, assisting clients with legal processes, supervising interns and volunteers, and coordinating services across seven counties. The position also requires grant compliance, public speaking, and fostering community partnerships. Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills are needed.

Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, submit reports, attend monthly check-ins.
- Handle crisis situations calmly, respond to crisis calls, law enforcement, and medical needs, and make appropriate referrals.
- Provide case management, resources, and referrals for clients; assist with temporary protection orders and court hearings.
- Supervise interns, volunteers, and staff, and make decisions on shelter services and priorities.
- Network with agencies, promote Safe Harbor’s mission, and create public awareness through social media and public speaking.
- Assist with agency needs, attend meetings and training, prepare reports for board meetings, and follow all policies and procedures.
